His brother reportedly returned to Mexico a year later. Xipaguazín died in Toloriu on the 10th January in 1537 and would was buried in the parish of the town.

It is said that before her death she buried her personal treasure somewhere in Vima farmhouse. In 1936 her grave was looted and destroyed.

Also in 1936, a group of German adventurers arrived in Toloriu with the intention of searching for the treasure and drilled holes throughout the estate. The same thing happened with a group of speleologists in 1960, as well as other people who also searched the treasure.
