How to get there: The road connecting Masella with Coma Oriola has a recreation area called Escobairó, which is 1 km from Masella. There’s a parking lot from where a wide path leads north. It’s a short five-minute walk to the observation tower.

Available facilities: There’s a large wooden tower that has stairs to climb and reach the top floor, where you’ll find the viewpoint overlooking the surrounding forest. This floor has a roof and a number of interpretation boards.

Accessibility for people with reduced mobility: It’s not accessible, as there are many stairs to climb to the top. Moreover, the path to the viewpoint—despite being short—can only be done on foot.

What to see:

You’ll find yourself in the middle of a coniferous forest sitting atop a limestone bedrock, surrounding Masella. Most of the forest is formed by mountain pine or hybridized with Scots pine. It boasts a wonderful variety of mushrooms in autumn.
It may seem you’ll only get limited views because of the dense forest, but as you go up, you’ll realize that’s not the case.

To the north, you’ll see the Cerdanya valley floor. From west to east, you’ll get views of Aransa’s mountains, Monturull and Perafita, Tossa Plana de Lles, Llosa Valley, Meranges Valley with Puigpedrós, and further east, Carlit Massif and then Puigmal Massif. To the south, you’ll see La Tosa with the Masella ski slopes on the side.
