How to get there: At Plaça dels Herois, one of the busiest squares in Puigcerdà, stands the bell tower of Santa Maria de Puigcerdà Church. Climb a number of stairs to the top of the bell tower, which is the best viewpoint in the city.

This spot in the city affords one of the best viewpoints of Cerdanya, with views of the entire Cerdanya valley floor and the mountains surrounding it. To the southeast, you’ll see the Puigmal Massif; to the south, the Collada de Toses sector, the Puigllançada and Tosa d’Alp mountains, where you can get a glimpse of the La Molina and Masella downhill ski resorts. Next, the Serra de Moixeró and Serra del Cadí mountain ranges. On the other side of the valley, separated by the Segre River, visible from here along the tree-lined riverbank, you’ll see the Puigpedrós mountains, Carol Valley and Carlit Massif.
