Description

It is a 15th century building, consecrated in 1482, its construction was promoted by the region delegate of Cerdanya and mayor of Puigcerdà, Antoni Mercader in gratitude for the victory obtained in an assault on the city in 1477. The chapel was sacked by the French in 1793 and later restored. It has a single nave, divided into three sections by pointed arches and covered with an edge vault; the polygonal apse is also covered with an edge vault and keystone. It is lit from the side with double glazed windows and has a wooden choir. The façade has a portal with a lowered arch, with well-worked voussoirs, and an oculus on which a small belfry rises.

The “MNAC” preserves two excellent Gothic altarpieces from this church, attributed to an anonymous painter known as the Master of La Seu d’Urgell.
