Description
The church and the hospital of Quadres are located next to the old Strata Ceretana and are documented as early as the 13th century.
In 1698, as indicated by the date on the keystone of the arch of the door, a building was erected on the previous Romanesque of the twelfth century, which forms its foundation. The frontispiece is topped by a small belfry. Inside, the cornice of the vault, as well as the remains of the triumphal arch existing in the area of the presbytery, correspond to the Romanesque building. During the restoration work on the building, fragments of the baroque paintings that covered it and represent plant motifs appeared in the triumphal arch.
Archaeological work has revealed the causes of the burial. Possibly the collapse of the Romanesque building was caused by a flood of the nearby river Segre.
