Museu de l’esclop

Museum dedicated to one of the most well-known everyday objects in Meranges: the clog. This unique type of footwear was exported to the population throughout the country. The exhibition shows both the history of the trade and the manufacture of the practical shoe.

In the main square of Meranges, the museum explains in a didactic way the history of this footwear and the process of elaboration, from the difficulty to obtain the wood, which must have special characteristics, to the tools that they were used and how to work them and sell them.
