On the hill of Llívia, when the place still had no castle or name, a fierce dragon roamed devouring cattle and people. It made life impossible neary vilages, who were becoming more depopulated every day, because the few who could escape the ferocity of that monster fled to save themselves. The dragon was killed by a brave knight named Llívia, who fell in love with the land. With a huge shield, on which was painted a very large cross, and provided with a long spear, he went to the den of the beast, which as soon as he saw the cross, he tamed himself and let himself approach the knight, who easily slaughtered him. Once the monster was killed, Llívia built a castle, which took its name, as did the town around it, built by the same people who had run away from the dragon, and some other.
