Where does the name Pyrenees come from? Well, the legend says that Pyrenees was the beautiful daughter of Tubal, and that she lived a crazy impossible love story with Hercules. Why was the love impossible? Because his father, Tubal, owner of the Pyrenees region, famous for its forests, refused to accept their love and union, and obliged Hercules to leave the region.

Over the years, many suitors tried to win Pirene’s love, but she still kept her passion for Hercules. Until, because of the frustration and envy, one of these suitors set fire to the forest where Pyrenees lived… and the poor woman ended up dying, consumed by the flames.
