La Cerdanya is synonymous with tradition and popular festivals. Many of the towns in the Cerdanya geography have turned the celebration of the end of the harvest into their Local Festivity, one of the most important events of the year that brings together all its inhabitants. The valley also hosts year after year dances and ancestral folk rites that cheer and add color to the streets of all towns and cities.
The activities, however, do not end here, as the region is also witnessing numerous cycles of classical music concerts (in Bellver, Llívia, Puigcerdà, Ix …); accordionist meetings, the Festa de l’Estany in Puigcerdà, non-religious gatherings in Fontanera or Vilallobent, gastronomic meetings and festivals, such as: the Festa del Trinxat in Puigcerdà, the Festa del Nap a Ger, “Dijous Gras” in Prullans with the traditional sausage omelette and annual fairs such as the Fira de Sant Llorenç de Bellver, livestock fairs such as the Puigcerdà horse fair and sports fairs, among others. Celebrations that give authenticity and tradition to the region.
